Football Recap: South Shore Starts off Right with Win over Winter/Birchwood

South Shore gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They snuck past Winter/Birchwood with a 34-28 win. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 42-29 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Winter/Birchwood is on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Shore will venture away from home to face off against Shell Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winter/Birchwood, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rib Lake at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
