Softball Game Preview: Organ Mountain Knights vs. Las Cruces Bulldawgs

For the second straight game, Organ Mountain will face off against Las Cruces. The Knights will square off against the Bulldawgs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Organ Mountain has won seven straight at home, while Las Cruces won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.

Organ Mountain is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Las Cruces, who was ranked eighth at the time (Organ Mountain was ranked 14th). The Knights came out on top against the Bulldawgs by a score of 8-3 on Monday.

The team relied heavily on Leah Melero, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Caillin Reyes was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Melero wasn't the only one making solid contact: Organ Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.
