Football Game Preview: Prattville Lions vs. Thompson Warriors + Official Tickets

The Prattville Lions will face off against the Thompson Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Prattville will be strutting in after a win while Thompson will be coming in after a loss.

Prattville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Hillcrest, who was ranked 24th at the time (Prattville was ranked 15th). The Lions walked away with a 38-31 victory over the Patriots on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Tristin Blackmon produced another solid effort rushing for 156 yards and three scores. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 101.4 rushing yards per game. Deshawn Hall also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Thompson didn't have quite enough to beat Hoover on Friday and fell 33-30. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this contest were averaging 12.89 points allowed.

Prattville will have to contain Trent Seaborn as he made an impact in Thompson's last game. He threw for 272 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 87% of his passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Urijah Casey helped Seaborn out on the ground, rushing for 79 yards and one score.

Even if they lost, Thompson's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Cam Pritchett, Ami Moala, and Bradlee Cocchiaro, who each picked up one sack apiece. Pritchett was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Prattville's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Thompson, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

Prattville was taken down by Thompson 36-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Seaborn, who threw for 370 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.9% of his passes.
