Baseball Recap: ThunderRidge Takes a Loss

ThunderRidge fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Regis Jesuit on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost seven in a row.

Cameron Carpinello was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits.

On the hitting side, Shane Christy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Paquette, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

ThunderRidge's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Regis Jesuit, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ThunderRidge will face off against Legend at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Regis Jesuit, they will square off against Ponderosa at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
