Basketball Recap: Olivia Bolduc's Big Game Can't Quite Lead St. John's Catholic Prep over Bryn Mawr

St. John's Catholic Prep blew Bryn Mawr out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Bryn Mawr got their revenge. The St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings fell just short of the Bryn Mawr Mawrtians by a score of 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Vikings have suffered since January 8, 2024.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Olivia Bolduc, who posted 21 points in addition to five assists and four steals. The matchup was Bolduc's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Samantha Shively was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards.

St. John's Catholic Prep has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Bryn Mawr, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John's Catholic Prep will take on Maryvale Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bryn Mawr, they will square off against Glenelg Country at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
