Basketball Game Preview: Olympian Eagles vs. Mira Mesa Marauders

Olympian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They secured a 64-58 W over Madison.

Olympian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tristan Anderson, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 24 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Anderson has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Walker, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 17 points.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Mira Mesa ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They managed a 65-61 victory over Bishop's. Given the Marauders' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th in California, while the Knights are ranked 220th in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Olympian's win bumped their record up to 25-6. As for Mira Mesa, they pushed their record up to 26-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.

Everything came up roses for Olympian against Mira Mesa in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 60-33 win. Will Olympian repeat their success, or does Mira Mesa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
