Basketball Recap: Dupree Tigers vs. Harding County Ranchers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Dupree can now relate to. They took a blow against the Harding County Ranchers on Tuesday, falling 62-12. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Ranchers are ranked 12th).
Harding County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bailey Rae Verhulst out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine steals. That's the most steals Rae Verhulst has posted since back in February of 2024. Kamry Padden was another key player, on her way to 12 points and four steals.
Dupree's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Harding County, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 19-0.
Dupree does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harding County, they will take on Faith at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harding County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Faith likes a good challenge.
