            Softball Recap: West Linn Lions vs. Westview Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            West Linn made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Westview, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions were the clear victors by  an  11-1 margin over the Wildcats on Wednesday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by nine  runs or more this season.
 Avery Wolf spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on one hit and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season.

 At the plate,  Emily Sakys and  Piper Ruthrauff did most of the damage at the plate:  Sakys  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI, while  Ruthrauff  went 3-for-4 with one  home run and one  double. Those  three  hits gave  Ruthrauff a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kendall Atwood, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
The  victory was  the third in a row for West Linn, bringing their record up to 6-1. As for Westview, they moved to 4-2 with that  loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
 Coming up, West Linn will challenge Aloha at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 9.2  runs per game this season. As for Westview,  a feisty cat fight will be fought as Westview Wildcats  challenge  Tigard Tigers at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday.
