Football Recap: Picayune Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Picayune couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Hattiesburg Tigers on Friday, falling 47-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Maroon Tide have suffered since September 20, 2024.

Davion Young produced another solid performance rushing for 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries for Hattiesburg. Young's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Haedyn Leverette helped out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Picayune's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Hattiesburg, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Picayune does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hattiesburg, they will host Warren Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 930 yards in their previous games.
