Softball Recap: Stagg Find Success

Stagg proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 19) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Los Banos Tigers, sneaking past 10-8.

Aerie Garcia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Kaliyah Hayes also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Stagg's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Los Banos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stagg will head out to take on Weston Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Los Banos, they will take on El Capitan at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
