Football Recap: Central Florida Christian Academy Starts Season with Victory at Home

Central Florida Christian Academy took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They took down the Trinity Prep Saints 27-9. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Saints, too.

Central Florida Christian Academy found their leader in freshman Jahmari Hammonds, who rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. DaVion Monroe did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 93 receiving yards.

Central Florida Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Central Florida Christian Academy's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece. Jondell Cennett was another major factor on D, making seven total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Trinity Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
