Basketball Game Preview: Glenn Bobcats vs. Carver Yellowjackets

The Glenn Bobcats and the Carver Yellowjackets will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Glenn is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Glenn is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Reagan on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Glenn was beaten by Reagan 72-36. The Bobcats were down 53-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kendrick Hines, who posted five points along with six boards and four blocks. Those four blocks gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyire Murphy, who put up ten points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Carver might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting College Prep & Leadership Academy an easy 53-32 win. The game marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Carver now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Glenn, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Glenn strolled past Carver in their previous meeting back in December of 2019 by a score of 73-58. Will Glenn repeat their success, or does Carver have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
