Recap: Providence Prep Rams vs. Sterling Classical Soldiers
After a string of six wins, the Providence Prep Rams's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 60-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sterling Classical. Providence Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sterling Classical apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Ely McClung had an outrageously good game for Sterling Classical as he scored 32 points. Another player making a difference was Sam Luttrell, who scored nine points.
Providence Prep's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Sterling Classical, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Prep will take on Eagle Christian Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Eagle Christian Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Sterling Classical, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Grace Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Grace Academy is ranked 1081st, while Sterling Classical is ranked 1089th).
