Basketball Recap: Capital Cougars vs. Spring Valley Timberwolves
Capital was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 84-60 to the Spring Valley Timberwolves . The contest was a close 37-34 at the break, but unfortunately for the Cougars it sure didn't stay that way.
Spring Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harrison Riggs, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Riggs' 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Caldwell, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards.
Capital's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Spring Valley, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Capital will take on Parkersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spring Valley, they will face off against Cabell Midland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
