Coconino came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Bradshaw Mountain, but Kalli Smith wouldn't allow it. The Bradshaw Mountain Bears walked away with a 52-42 victory over the Coconino Panthers on Thursday thanks in part to Smith, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards. She also grabbed seven steals, which is notable because Bradshaw Mountain is 3-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 6-11 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Kenna Martinez, who posted eight points and seven steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

The win made it two in a row for Bradshaw Mountain and bumps their season record up to 9-12. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points over those games. As for Coconino, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Coming up, Bradshaw Mountain will challenge Lee Williams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coconino, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Flagstaff at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Flagstaff has seven straight victories, Coconino has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
