Recap: West Side Pirates vs. Soda Springs Cardinals
The West Side Pirates lost against the Soda Springs Cardinals back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. West Side had to suffer through a rough 56-29 loss at the hands of Soda Springs.
West Side's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Holly Kropf, who scored 12 points, and Miley Cundick who scored 11 points.
West Side's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-17. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.4 points per game. As for Soda Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season.
West Side will head out on the road to face off against Malad at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Side will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Malad is ranked 28th). As for Soda Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bear Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
