Basketball Recap: Pickens Takes a Loss

Pickens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were dealt a 72-33 loss at the hands of the Daniel Lions. The Blue Flame were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-12.

Daniel got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tristyn Carrington out in front who went 5 for 7 en route to 13 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jackson Conley, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points and eight boards.

Pickens' defeat dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Daniel, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6.

Pickens will be playing in front of their home fans against Greer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greer will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Pickens surely won't give up without a fight. As for Daniel, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Daniel Lions face off against the Seneca Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
