Baseball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Andover Trojans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Railroaders have suffered since March 25th.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Andover, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-9.

Looking ahead, Newton will take on Salina Central on Friday. As for Andover, they will challenge Goddard at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.11 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
