Preview: Indian Creek Braves vs. Franklin County Wildcats

Indian Creek has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Franklin County Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Indian Creek can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Greensburg 49-7 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-0.

Indian Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jalen A sauer out in front who threw for 244 yards and five touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Elijah Guyer and his 93 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Indian Creek's victory.

Meanwhile, Franklin County's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They took down South Dearborn 25-7.

Wyatt Bowling was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries.

Indian Creek's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Greensburg and 2-8 Edgewood (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32% over those games). As for Franklin County, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Indian Creek has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 168.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Franklin County struggles in that department as they've been even better at 172.1 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.

Indian Creek barely slipped by Franklin County in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 37-36. Will Indian Creek repeat their success, or does Franklin County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
