Newton Local is 7-2 against Ansonia since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Indians will challenge the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Newton Local and four for Ansonia.

Newton Local might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-6 to Tri-County North, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Ansonia didn't have quite enough to beat Covington on Saturday and fell 4-3.

Ansonia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Eubank, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Kam Ingle was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Ansonia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Newton Local, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Newton Local came out on top in a nail-biter against Ansonia in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
