Basketball Recap: Charles White Jr's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Marion over Manning

Marion was the 56-46 winner over Manning when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Marion Swamp Foxes took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Manning Monarchs.

Several Swamp Foxes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charles White Jr, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 boards gave White Jr a new career-high. Jameir Legette was another key player, going 6 for 7 en route to 14 points.

Manning's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taivon Carter, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Lovon Stevenson, who posted 12 points and seven boards.

Marion dropped their record down to 10-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Manning, their record is now 14-5.

Marion has already played their next contest, a 66-56 defeat against Mullins on the 8th. As for Manning, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 66-58 win against Lake City on the 11th.
