American Canyon is a perfect 10-0 against Justin-Siena since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wolves will head out on the road to square off against the Braves at 4:00 p.m.
American Canyon is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Vanden just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 11-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolves have suffered since March 4th.
Deja Montgomery made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4. Ianna Labao also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Justin-Siena). They were the clear victors by a 25-9 margin over Bethel on Monday. With that victory, the Braves brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Ale Guerrero made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Guerrero was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Caiden Grimmer and Lilah Fern did most of the damage at the plate: Grimmer scored five runs and stole two bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances, while Fern scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Grimmer has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Grace Bradbury was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Justin-Siena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .776. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.
American Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 7-4-1. As for Justin-Siena, their win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.
Everything went American Canyon's way against Justin-Siena when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as American Canyon made off with a 17-1 victory. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
