Basketball Recap: Union Knights vs. Denver Cyclones
Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 84-79 heartbreaker at the hands of the Denver Cyclones. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (56), the Knights still had to take the loss.
Union's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Denver, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union will take on Dike-New Hartford at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Denver, they will be playing at home against Aplington-Parkersburg at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Aplington-Parkersburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Denver likes a good challenge.
