Football Recap: KIPP Columbus Jaguars vs. Dawson-Bryant Hornets
KIPP Columbus extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-7. They took a hard 40-26 fall against the Dawson-Bryant Hornets. The Jaguars gained 95 more yards on the day, but it was the Hornets that made the best use of them.
Tim Gladney threw for 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Malachi Wilder-Anderson was his top target, picking up 31 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Dushun Bosley rushed for 134 yards and one TD on only seven carries.
As for Dawson-Bryant, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.5 points over those games.
Kaden Murphy was his usual excellent self, rushing for 228 yards and four scores while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024.
KIPP Columbus didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-6 defeat against Worthington Kilbourne on the 10th. As for Dawson-Bryant, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 44-15 victory against South Point on the 10th.
