Oceanside has won four straight games at home, while El Camino has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Pirates will host the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Oceanside will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Oceanside is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Vista 15-4 on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Pirates with their most commanding win of the season.
Seaven Fuimaono was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lexi Pantoja, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Oceanside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.
El Camino came out on top against San Dieguito Academy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Wildcats walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Mustangs.
El Camino got a massive performance out of Kailey Dain, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave Dain a new career-high. Cambria Lyon was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs.
El Camino is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Oceanside, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Oceanside hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like El Camino struggles in that department as they've averaged .353. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Oceanside skirted past El Camino 7-6 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
