Football Game Preview: Holly Hill Academy Raiders vs. Richard Winn Academy Eagles

The Holly Hill Academy Raiders will challenge the Richard Winn Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Holly Hill Academy has ten straight victories, Richard Winn Academy has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Holly Hill Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Jefferson Davis Academy, who was ranked seventh at the time (Holly Hill Academy was ranked third). Holly Hill Academy strolled past Jefferson Davis Academy with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 46-32.

Parker Kizer was his usual excellent self, rushing for 355 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry, and also throwing for 15 yards and one TD. Kizer is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 220 every time he's taken the field this season. Jake Kirven helped out on the ground, rushing for 84 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Holly Hill Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 454 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 221 rushing yards in 11 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Richard Winn Academy came up short against Wardlaw Academy on Friday, falling 50-28.

Richard Winn Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Holly Hill Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
