Basketball Recap: DSST: Montview Comes Up Short

DSST: Montview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 71-54 bruising from the Vista PEAK Prep Bison.

Leading Vista PEAK Prep to victory were Noah Adkins and Mitchell Oliver. Adkins went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points along with five assists and three steals, while Oliver went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points along with seven boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Oliver a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquilos Mata, who posted ten points.

DSST: Montview's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Vista PEAK Prep, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2.

DSST: Montview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-34 defeat against Colorado Academy on the 20th. As for Vista PEAK Prep, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Grandview at 2:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
