Volleyball Recap: Aragon Beats Menlo-Atherton for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Aragon entered their tilt with Menlo-Atherton on Saturday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Bears. This was a revenge game for the Dons: when they faced off against the Bears back in September, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Aragon was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (59-47), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 7-25, 25-22, 15-12.

Caitlyn Robertson paced Aragon's offense, picking up eight kills. Robertson got some help from Gabriella Xiao and her 13 assists. Finally, Poppy McKenzie kept Aragon's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Aragon's victory bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Menlo-Atherton, with the loss, they broke their ten-match winning streak and moved their record to 18-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Aragon will face off against rival Sequoia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Menlo-Atherton is set to square off against their familiar foe Carlmont at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
