The Pace Vikings will challenge the Lopez Lobos at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Pace is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
Pace will bounce into Friday's game after beating Edcouch-Elsa, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Yellowjackets on Tuesday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Nubia Alvarado was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-5. Those home runs were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Maya Galvan was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Sofia Alejandro was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Pace lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their home run total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Lopez beat Rivera 5-1 on Tuesday.
Like Pace, Lopez also got a great game from a two-way player: Chalene Granado. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Granado a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ferni Pulido, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Lopez's victory bumped their record up to 6-2-1. As for Pace, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Lopez's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Pace has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Lopez, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Pace keep running through batters, or will the Lobos buck the trend?
Pace couldn't quite get it done against Lopez in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 as they fell 11-7. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
