Basketball Game Preview: McNair Mustangs vs. Hapeville Charter Hornets

McNair hasn't had much luck against Hapeville Charter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will welcome the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

McNair is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Forest Park on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs had to suffer through a 62-28 loss at the hands of the Panthers. The Mustangs were down 43-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Hapeville Charter had to start their season on the road last Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 70-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stockbridge.

McNair will have to keep a close watch on Kody Brown and Corrin Page, a pair of players who had a big impact on Hapeville Charter's prior game. Brown posted 24 points and seven rebounds, while Page dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. Premiere Wade was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

McNair suffered a grim 73-47 defeat to Hapeville Charter when the teams last played back in January of 2020. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
