Recap: Dixie County Bears vs. Bell Bulldogs
The Dixie County Bears had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against Bell by a score of 38-30. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Dixie County also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Dixie County was led to victory by Jaidyn Brown and Jakayla Henderson. Brown scored 13 points, while Henderson scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Whitaker, who scored 12 points.
Bell lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lindsey Collett, who scored eight points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Maddie Smith, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Dixie County's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Bell, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Dixie County will be playing at home against Branford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bell, they will head out on the road to take on Riverside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Riverside Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
