Shelby waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took down the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets 72-53. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 72-58 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Bessemer City had strong showings from Josiah Guyton, who went 7 of 12 en route to 19 points and five boards, and Jonathan Black, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 18 points. Guyton is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last four games he's played. Tristen Gordon was another key player, putting up four points and eight assists.

Shelby pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Bessemer City, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Shelby will welcome East Gaston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Shelby's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games. As for Bessemer City, they will head out on the road to challenge Burns at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Burns is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 76.5 points per game this season.
