Baseball Recap: St. Michael's Triumphs

St. Michael gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Santa Fe Indian Braves. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Horsemen also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Adam Bird tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, St. Michael's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Andre Bryant, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave Bryant a new career-high.

St. Michael's has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Santa Fe Indian, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-5.

St. Michael's didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 victory against West Las Vegas on the 21st. Hopefully Santa Fe Indian paid attention to the Horsemen's match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Horsemen at 11:00 a.m. on the 26th.
