Basketball Recap: Stanton County's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Stanton County entered their tilt with Syracuse on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They snuck past the Syracuse Bulldogs with a 66-62 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Stanton County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was David Crane out in front who went 8 of 11 en route to 23 points and six rebounds. The contest was Crane's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gerardo Robles, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 25 points.

Stanton County's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Syracuse, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-3 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stanton County will square off against Deerfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Stanton County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. As for Syracuse, they will challenge Stanton County at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st.
