Football Recap: Princeton Piles Up the Points Against Pike Central

Princeton lost to Pike Central back in October of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Tigers really took it to the Chargers for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-6 win. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tigers had established a 42-point advantage.

A big part of Princeton's victory came down to the chemistry between Cale Beloat and his top target Karwin Pope. Beloat rushed for 59 yards and one score on only eight carries while Pope rushed for 133 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 70 yards. Conor Marsh made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Princeton has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 38.5 points this season. As for Pike Central, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Princeton and Pike Central will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Tigers are set to take on their familiar foe Heritage Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pike Central will challenge rival Tell City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
