Basketball Recap: Richmond Heights Spartans vs. Chagrin Falls Tigers
After losing to the Chagrin Falls Tigers the last time they met, the Richmond Heights Spartans decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Richmond Heights pulled ahead with a 36-35 photo finish over the Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Richmond Heights.
Despite the loss, Chagrin Falls still got an impressive performance from Lilly Stukus, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Stukus is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elena Goodwin, who scored five points along with two steals.
Richmond Heights' win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Chagrin Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
Richmond Heights will be playing at home against the Indians at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Waite comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Chagrin Falls, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rockets at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
