Basketball Game Preview: The Vanguard School Coursers vs. James Irwin Jaguars

The Vanguard School Coursers will face off against the James Irwin Jaguars at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vanguard School will be strutting in after a victory while James Irwin will be coming in after a loss.

Last Wednesday, The Vanguard School earned a 50-43 win over DSST: Cedar. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Coursers.

The Vanguard School can attribute much of their success to Jordyn Christensen, who posted 18 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, and Lily Blanchard, who earned 15 points along with eight assists and four steals. The match was Christensen's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Joy Johncock was another key player, putting up seven points along with five boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, James Irwin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 48-38 to Florence.

The Vanguard School is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for James Irwin, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
