Amherst was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Gordon-Rushville on Friday. The Broncos were the clear victors by a 50-24 margin over the Mustangs. The Broncos' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Gordon-Rushville's loss came despite strong showings from Daniel Martins and Johnny Ziller. Martins picked up 181 receiving yards and two TDs, while Ziller threw for 332 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.1 yards per attempt. Martins really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 76 yards.

Amherst moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Gordon-Rushville, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

As of now, neither Amherst nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
