Basketball Recap: Clarksville Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Josh Hall and Jeremiah Freeman

Clarksville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 61-40 to the Madison Cubs. The Generals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cubs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2017.

Clarksville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jeremiah Freeman, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds, and Josh Hall, who posted eight points and nine rebounds. Those eight rebounds gave Freeman a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Clarksville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Clarksville's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Madison, their record is now 3-8.

Clarksville will venture away from home to challenge Silver Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Silver Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Clarksville likes a good challenge. As for Madison, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Scottsburg at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th.
