Soccer Game Preview: Churchland vs. Smithfield

Churchland is 0-6 against Smithfield since March of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Truckers will head out to challenge the Packers at 5:30 p.m. Churchland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season.

Churchland will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on April 4th, then bounced right back against Norview two weeks ago. The Truckers never let the Pilots get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. It was an even better day for Briana Brooks as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Smithfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Warhill. That's two games in a row now that Smithfield have lost by just one goal.

Smithfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Churchland, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Churchland suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Smithfield when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Truckers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
