Football Game Preview: Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie vs. Mater Lakes Academy Bears

The Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie will head out on the road to square off against the Mater Lakes Academy Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hialeah Educational Academy hasn't scored more than 12 points for nine games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Hialeah Educational Academy's usually-dominant defense will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Downtown Doral offense got past them. The Biggie took a blow against the Dolphins on Monday, falling 31-0.

Meanwhile, Mater Lakes Academy won against Somerset Academy on Thursday with 25 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. The Bears snuck past Goleman with a 25-19 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Hialeah Educational Academy better keep an eye on Valentina Builes. She was instrumental in Mater Lakes Academy's win, throwing for 115 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 57 yards and one TD. That's the most passing touchdowns Builes has posted since back in February.

Mater Lakes Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Vanessa Vancott and Patience Mosely.

Mater Lakes Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Hialeah Educational Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Hialeah Educational Academy suffered a grim 28-7 defeat to Mater Lakes Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Biggie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
