Soccer Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Fairmont's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

Fairmont had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Walnut Hills Eagles 2-1. That's two games straight that Fairmont have won by just one goal.

Bienvenu Niyonkuru was the driving force of Fairmont's attack as he scored both of Fairmont's goals, bringing his season total up to 15 goals.

Fairmont has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those 12 contests. As for Walnut Hills, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 9-6-4 record.

Coming up, Fairmont will face off against St. Xavier at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Walnut Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
