Preview: Shoals Christian Flame vs. Lexington Golden Bears
Shoals Christian is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Lexington is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Having just played yesterday, the Shoals Christian Flame will get right back to it and host the Lexington Golden Bears at 5:00 p.m. on December 29th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Shoals Christian earned a 56-47 win over Hatton.
Sarah Davis (2025) was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Shoals Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Abby Owens, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Lexington was able to grind out a solid win over Central on Thursday, taking the game 43-30. The victory was just what Lexington needed coming off of a 57-23 defeat in their prior contest.
Shoals Christian's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Lexington, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Shoals Christian might still be hurting after the 82-62 loss they got from Lexington when the teams last played back in November. Can Shoals Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
