Softball Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss

Lakeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 16-14 heartbreaker at the hands of the King's Fork Bulldogs. Cavaliers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bulldogs since on Thursday.

Lakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for King's Fork, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lakeland is set to take on their familiar foe Grassfield at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, King's Fork will face off against rival Nansemond River at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering the Bulldogs have lost three straight at home and the Warriors three straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
