Basketball Recap: Ravenscroft Ravens vs. North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights
The Ravenscroft Ravens had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They came out on top against North Raleigh Christian Academy by a score of 53-42. This was payback for Ravenscroft, who suffered a 68-44 loss the last time these two teams met.
Ravenscroft's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ellie Cronin, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Cronin is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zoe Adams, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Ravenscroft pushed their record up to 16-8 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ravenscroft will take on the Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cary Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 397th, while the Ravens are ranked 100th). As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Fighting Pharaohs on February 3rd.
