Baseball Recap: Northwest Lions vs. Pacific Indians

Northwest can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pacific Indians and snuck past 7-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Northwest also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Landon Richard looked comfortable as he pitched an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Carson Leuthauser was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

On Pacific's side, Colton Kossuth made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Kossuth has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Connor Mooney was another key contributor, going 1-for-4 with a home run.

Even though they lost, Pacific didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with 12 strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwest only tossed five.

Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 7-18-3. As for Pacific, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest will take on Vianney at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pacific, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Washington at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Pacific's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home while Washington has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
