Basketball Recap: Northfield Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Northfield can now relate to. They took a blow against the Williamstown Blue Devils on Wednesday, falling 67-28. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, with their most recent defeat being a 81-28 loss back in February.

Leading Williamstown to victory were Evan Bailey and Alex Clark. Bailey went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Clark shot 50% from the field to rack up 20 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. The game was Bailey's seventh in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Nick Mascitti, who posted six points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Northfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Williamstown, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

Northfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Williamstown, they have already played their next contest, a 74-29 victory against Twin Valley on the 28th.
