Basketball Recap: Wesson Falls Despite Big Games from Nolan Barlow and Brendon Duguid

Wesson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the West Lincoln Bears, falling 55-31. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cobras of the 71-65 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Brendon Duguid and Nolan Barlow certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Duguid dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds, while Barlow posted seven points and 13 boards.

Wesson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for West Lincoln, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Wesson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 50-39 loss against Bogue Chitto on the 18th. As for West Lincoln, they have also already played their next game, a 51-42 victory against Enterprise on the 18th.
