Softball Recap: Cibola Comes Up Short

Cibola blew Gila Ridge out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Gila Ridge got their revenge. The Raiders fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Raiders have suffered since February 26, 2024.

Cameron Kasid made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Cibola's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-12. As for Gila Ridge, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Cibola will head out to square off against Yuma at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Criminals will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. Gila Ridge will be paying especially close attention to Cibola's match: after Cibola faces off against Yuma, they'll take on Gila Ridge again at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
