Medina Posts Huge Game in 40-8 Victory
Starting off the list is Cotulla's Alex Medina, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Medina rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. He is becoming a predictor of Cotulla's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
Cotulla pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Medina and Cotulla will look to defend their home field on Friday against Young Men's Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m.

Poth Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to Kane Stover
Poth picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Kane Stover. Nobody could stop Stover as he rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 56 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Poth's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Stover and Poth will host Natalia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Garet Gonzales Delivers Electric Performance Vs Young Men's Leadership Academy
Garet Gonzales put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in October of 2023 on Friday. He rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Gonzales might have his next game, a home matchup with Dilley, circled on his calendar. Gonzales rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries the last time he and the Wolves duked it out back in October of 2023.

Nixon-Thompson Made His Presence Known in Karnes City's 47-14 Loss
Karnes City was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Savion Nixon-Thompson did his best to prevent it. Dilley had no answer to Nixon-Thompson as he rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 137 yards and a touchdown on only 12 passes. Nixon-Thompson got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 61 yards.
For the season, Nixon-Thompson has thrown 8 touchdowns while averaging 114.1 passing yards per game.

Major Luna and Co. Win Seventh in a Row
Poth picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Major Luna. Stockdale had no answer to Luna as he threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns while completing 79.2% of his passes.
On the year, Luna has thrown 17 touchdowns while averaging 202.6 passing yards per game.
